§ 22-57. Penalty for failure to obtain a permit; lien.

(a)

Any person who fails to obtain a building permit as required by this article shall be subject to a fine of $250.00 for each day, or part thereof, that a building permit is not obtained. Such fine shall begin on the day work was commenced or, in the case of a mobile home, the day the mobile home was installed.

(b)

Such fine shall constitute a lien upon real property to which an improvement was made without the issuance of a building permit and shall be enforceable under applicable state statutes.
