§ 2-273. Powers of hearing officer.

  • The hearing officer shall have the power to:

    (1)

    Adopt rules for the conduct of the hearing.

    (2)

    Subpoena alleged violators and witnesses to the hearings, which subpoenas shall be served by the county sheriffs or his deputies.

    (3)

    Subpoena evidence.

    (4)

    Take testimony under oath.

    (5)

    Issue orders having the force of law, to command whatever steps are necessary to bring a violation into compliance.

    (6)

    Establish and levy fines and impose and foreclose liens pursuant to section 2-293 herein.
