§ 74-96. Failure to maintain plumbing system.

  • Failure to keep a sewer pipe (i.e., the pipe leading from the plumbing system to the city main) clean and maintained in a proper manner shall give the city the right to cut off the water connection, and such water connection shall not be reconnected until the sewer pipe is cleaned and properly maintained. When the owner uses a water supply not owned by the city, the city shall have the right to cut off such water supply to the plumbing system, and the owner shall have no right to reconnect the water supply until the sewer pipe leading from the plumbing system to the city main has been cleaned and properly maintained. Any violation of this section shall be considered a violation of this article and shall subject the violator to the penalties as set forth in section 74-39.
